When are intern programs?

US: Internship sessions are seasonal: Summer, Fall, and Winter. The 2022 fall internships will start in September.

Global: The majority of programs take place in line with local academic calendars, and typically will run August–March.

Where are interns based?

Internships are available in many of our global offices including the San Francisco Bay Area, Burbank, Shenzhen, Sydney, Wroclaw, London, and Nuremburg.

*Right now, there are both remote and hybrid internships. Please refer to the job listing for role-specific details. Global interns may have the opportunity to move back into the office, in accordance with local guidelines.

Who is eligible to apply?

US: Undergraduates (freshman through senior) and graduates (Masters, JD & Ph.D.) are welcome to apply. Internships are also available to recent grads who have graduated within six months of the internship start date. F-1 Student VISAs are accepted for certain positions.

What is the programming like?

Dolby U internships offer events based on our three pillars: educational, civic engagement, and social programming. Due to COVID-19, all intern programming in the US will be 100% virtual.

How long are internships?

The duration of internships depend on the role, team, and location, and can range from 3 months up to a year.

Is there a deadline to apply?

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and will continue to be until the position is filled.

Kinga

“Working at Dolby was my dream from the moment I found an internship offer on Linkedin – it connected my analytical skills, programming and interest in audio and music. People surrounding me from the first moment were very supportive and willing to share knowledge, but also trusted in my ability to solve problems. Working on several projects, and with international teams, gave me an opportunity to learn and grow rapidly. Now, I still learn a lot at work, but I can also be a buddy to others, engage in different initiatives and be an active member of the Dolby Poland community.”

Dolby doesn't treat interns like interns. Dolby throws them right into thick of the real work with the rest of the full-time employees — and expects them to rise to the challenge. As an MBA intern on the Brand Marketing and then Integrated Marketing teams, I was tasked with creating strategies for app branding and naming, translating logos and branding for foreign markets, and even working directly with our product and sales teams to craft value propositions. In return, Dolby has given me the opportunity to continuously try on different hats as I chart the course of my professional career.”

“My favorite part of my internship at Dolby was that I was treated as a full-time engineer from day 1. I was allowed to pick-up tickets like a full-time engineer would, and it allowed me to get my hands on a lot of different projects. I could work on testing, and allowed to work documentation, and code, so I got a lot of exposure which kind of taught me what I was interested in and move into my career.”
