We’re thrilled to announce that three recent Dolby Institute Fellowship films will premiere in Dolby Atmos at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, January 19–28.
Congratulations to Dìdi (弟弟) by writer director Sean Wang, Love Me by writer/director duo Sam and Andy Zuchero, and The American Society of Magical Negroes by actor/writer/director Kobi Libii
Both in-person and virtual festival tickets are available now.
Dìdi (弟弟)
Written, directed, and produced by Sean Wang, Dìdi (弟弟) follows an impressionable 13-year-old Taiwanese American boy during the last month of summer before high school begins where he learns what his family can’t teach him: how to skate, how to flirt, and how to love your mom.
Sean is a filmmaker from Fremont, CA, currently based in Los Angeles. His latest film, Nǎi Nai & Wài Pó (Grandma & Grandma), premiered at SXSW 2023 where it won the Grand Jury Prize & Audience Award. It went on to win top awards at SIFF, AFI Fest, and was acquired by Disney+ to release in early 2024.
Love Me
Set long after humanity’s extinction, Love Me is a totally unique and surprisingly affecting romance featuring a buoy and a satellite that meet online and fall in love.
Sam and Andy Zuchero are a filmmaking team from Topanga, California. Making art together since their teens, Love Me is their first feature film, premiering at Sundance 2024.
