LÉA THE LEOX, a participant in the SXSW 2023 Accelerator, has recently released her new EP, Purpose, in Dolby Atmos. The singer and songwriter used the skills learned from the Dolby Atmos Music Accelerator to deliver an immersive emotional experience to her listeners, taking them through heartbreak, healing, and self-discovery.
Year 2 filmmakers go from filming to post-production
It seems like a long time ago that our four Finish the Script Year 2 filmmakers got the news that they had been chosen to turn Carlos’ opening scene into a short film. And yet here we are! Britney, Kaitlyn, Miguel, and Thomas have all been through pre-production and recently finished shooting their films. Now, with the guidance of a Dolby team of experts they will try their hand at working in post-production with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Dolby Atmos Album Assembler
The Dolby Atmos Album Assembler is an easy-to-use tool for applying the finishing touches to songs and albums mixed in Dolby Atmos. Used in conjunction with the Dolby Atmos Renderer (purchased separately via the Dolby Atmos Production or Mastering Suite), the Album Assembler has been developed from the ground up for mastering Dolby Atmos music. It gives you everything you need to sequence and master your album before delivering it to a streaming service.

And … action! We’ve selected our 4 winners for the Dolby Institute x GFS Filmmaker Challenge. Award-winning director Carlos López Estrada (Summertime, Raya and the Last Dragon) is back again this year and will mentor them as they bring their unique visions to life. They will be guided through post-production by a team of Dolby experts to make the most of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos in their films. Meet the filmmakers and learn more about this year’s challenge.

Dolby Institute Fellowship film wins prize at Sundance Film Festival 2022
The 2022 recipient of the Dolby Institute Fellowship award, Nanny, written and directed by Nikyatu Jusu, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 22nd and was awarded the U.S. Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic. The film has since been acquired by Blumhouse and Prime Video.
Nothing is black and white in Passing
Passing was awarded the Dolby Institute Fellowship in 2021 and premiered at Sundance. The film follows two Black women who can “pass” as white but choose to live on opposite sides of the color divide. Watch on Netflix in Dolby Vision® and Dolby Atmos® with a premium subscription.
